New leaf...Healthy life

HI LOVLIES!!

I do realize I am the absolute worst at keeping up with this blog!  However with college, a sorority, trying to keep my grades up, and now trying to live a healthy lifestyle that leaves little room for being on my laptop.
I don't know if y'all have heard of Blogilates.com but I have found that I am slightly addicted to her 1. wonderful workout videos (ALL ON YOUTUBE SWEET!)
2. She has an app (I REPEAT AN APP) you can keep up with other girls on this app and help motivate others and share recipes.

if you haven't checked her out yet I sincerely think you should lol.
I am currently addicted to watching the food network any chance I get in order to live a healthy lifestyle so if you see more than the occasional recipe on here that's why.

One show on the Food Network I have now found as a new favorite of mine is The Pioneer Woman I love this because of my southern origins and because all of her recipes are so wholesome.  This next recipe is one I just saw on her show today.  I have not tried it due to lack of ingredients however I will be getting them soon.  And it looks delicious.

sunrise punch

*There is no determined measurements for this recipe

In a blender throw in some ice.  Pour in (your amount) of Orange Juice, and then pour in (your amount) of Pineapple Juice (not my favorite so a little less in my version).  After this put in Milk in (keep in mind that there needs to be plenty of milk about the amount of the two others combined).  Once this is done put in I would say around 1/4 to 1/2 a cup meringue powder (this gives it a frothy texture) and then about a 1/4 a cup of powdered sugar.  Blend and put in cups to enjoy.

Courtesy of a recipe on the Food Network!

Another recipe which I found on The Pioneer Woman was her Tomato Salad this inspired my lunch today which was slightly different from her recipe.

Tomato Salad
Cut up about half a box of cherry or grape tomatoes (she used large tomatoes however I only had grape tomatoes)  After this pour vinaigrette over the tomatoes not too much but enough to coat them. ( I used Greek vinaigrette because that's all I had) Add on top fresh basil and parsley ( I didn't have either but I had dry basil which I shook on top) and mix.  However I also added about two small spoonful's of feta cheese.
This was a healthy and very delicious lunch that I will definitely be making more often.

What are your favorite recipes??

Rough Day, Rough Semester

This blog has lost much of what it used to be due to my loss of time.  I just want to say for the record I do care about this blog and I am still going to be posting to it just not as often as I would like to.

So I made it into a sorority Gamma Phi Beta and I love my new sisters more than anything especially my twin.  its not official we aren't twins yet but we are so much alike it has just kind of stuck with us.

Im making some major decisions In my life recently and I like where I think my life is headed.  I am not ready for the world to know exactly what my plans are when my own family doesn't know half of it yet.

some of the things I can tell you is that I am planning on studying in Hawaii next spring!!!(cue happy dancing) When I was there for the pro bowl I fell in love with the island and I would take any chance givin to go back there.

And I have yet to get an exam grade of higher than a 75% so in other words shit is getting real at University of South Carolina and I am in for it.

New school, New house, New life, Same blog

Ahhh ok I am severely sorry!  I have been saying that alot in my last couple of posts and that makes me sad I do not get to post as much as i would like to anymore due to going back to school, which unlike most of you, I never stopped.  I went to college for the Fall of 2013, Spring 2014, Summer 2014 and now Fall of 2014 someone just shoot me.  I did however end up passing all of my classes this summer (YAY!)

So let me tell you about this new life first off it is hella stressful living on your own I am almost 20 and I feel like I am just starting to be an adult!  My house (yes i said house not apartment) is super nice I love it along with my 3 absolutely wonderful roommates.  I started school two weeks ago and most of my classes are ok except for my math class I am stuck in a math class full of FRESHMEN (no insult meant) I was a freshman last year there's nothing wrong with being one, however there is a certain level of unease being in a class surrounded by people younger than you.  Mind you I have done this before in high school when i transferred, it is just not wanted.  I am taking Ancient Greek (you may look at me like I am stupid now)  however i am genuinely interested in it! It makes me happy (though it is definitely hard)!  I literally just ran across campus because i only have 20 min in between two classes that are literally probably atleast a good two miles away from each other.  Hectic I tell ya!

Anyways so my style in the past month has gotten a freakin makeover from hell and back.  Wondering why?  Firstly because I am now in a sorority(please refrain from rude and hurtful posts you are always welcome to your opinion I only ask you don't trash me for being in one) I am very proud of where I ended up and I couldn't be happier with my new sisters.  I am a proud member of Gamma Phi Beta and I wouldn't change it either.  However, when you do get a bid you have to hold yourself to a higher standard.  I am now being pushed to be the best part of myself and I can't wait for the outcome.  Now another reason my style has changed would be just the area I live in.  Nikes and T-shirts (my go to option) is more acceptable since most people in the area hike the campus as a pass time lol.  Another thing is during gameday it is a must that you wear a black &/or garnet and a pair of cowboy boots.  So my style has not really changed but what i wear of my clothes has.

On another note the weather here in Columbia is crazy mess.  Its been in the high 90's for the past two weeks and when hiking campus is your pass time it makes looking decent for class a major problem.  Speaking of how about me going to class this morning looking like i rolled out of bed(cause thats exactly what i did) in a jacket and jeans remember that high temp yeah my Iphone told me it would rain today....lying piece of shit.  Anywho i sat in the same seat next to same person i always had but something was different today.  I had been more social I talked and when the guy next to me was talking to me I was getting nervous....guys he was adorable.

So with all of that said
I love yall and i hope yall have a wonderful day loves

OMG....Freaking out!

I know you all must hate me sooo much and I will continue to apologize many times through out this entire post (Psst Im Sorry).  I have been so busy with preparations.  Guess what???? I got accepted into The University of South Carolina!!!!!!!! IM officially a Gamecock!  So incase you guys don't know too much about big universities they are extremely expensive and so my whole summer I have been freaking out money wise $$$$$ Tuition alone is going to cost me an arm and a leg!  The moral of the story study hard kids make good grades and get scholarships.
Summer school....now that's something I am not very happy about!  Im taking three classes and saying they are easy would be an understatement!  Between Math, Philosophy, and Human Sexuality I am about to murder myself.  Not to mention my asshole of a professor (ever dealt with one of those? they are the best right)
Someone save me from the torture!

Summer Post #1

IT'S SUMMER!!!

I can't believe it's finally summer time! Maybe some of you are still in school and I hope that you are just as excited as I am!  Summer is the time that gives us freedom to do whatever.  Although my summer will look nothing like the one above I can hope that all of you have an awesome summer.
So since it is now summer time I have decided to add 2 more pages to my blog!!! and I am really excited about both of them and hope that you guys are too!
  • Barefoot Summer - For all of the summer updates and anything summer related you can find it here.  Summer drink recipes, Beautiful beach visits, Tanning mishaps, and more.

I'll tell you guys my summer wish! But only if you promise not to tell.....I want to meet a nice guy this summer maybe fall in love, I want to have an adventure and do something completely different!  South Carolina, 19

Hair obsession

So lately I have been really obsessed with DIY hair recipes and guess what?  I can fit all of my hair into a ponytail now!!!!!!!!!!! I may be a little too excited about that fact Oppsies.
So I have found a few things I'd like to share with you guys.

One of the best things for your hair is Olive Oil.....I know this sounds crazy but if you put 2 tablespoons of this in your hair for 30-40 minutes with a hot towel wrapped around it before your shower It can heal split ends, and promotes growth.  I have done this for two nights in a row and I can say my hair has never been so soft.  I have heard people use coconut oil since I started researching however I prefer olive oil, with coconut you have to melt it first.  I also much prefer the consistency of olive oil.

I also made an all natural hair lightener you can find it on my other blog: DIY Beauty Recipes

I would love to hear from you guys! What are your favorite DIY beauty recipes?

College life = no life

So maybe you are in college, maybe you aren't.  Well let me tell you one thing not everyone's college life is like in the movies.  Actually no one I know gets to party that much and stay in school for longer than a year.  I have gone to zero parties my freshman year of college and already I have failed one class and I am on the brink of loosing my scholarship......
So now I have to take summer classes and those well they don't sound like the most fun things to be doing all summer, but we do what we have to inorder to stay in school.  So I looked up some tips on how to avoid the situation I am currently in (I don't think you want advice from me)

1. Don't be a procrastinator
I for one have a huge problem with this I always manage to convince myself that I can do things last minute and then I either have to settle for a lower grade or take the no sleep option (I love sleep so that is the last resort)  So make a calendar for yourself and make sure you stick by it don't let yourself be talked out of doing work.

2. Turn off your phone for 1 hour 1/2 each day
This is the hardest one for me I always like to be in touch with my friends but if you just turn your phone off for 1 hour and 1/2 and commit yourself to doing work you will be surprised at what you get done.  And for those who are about to ask me about Pandora? NO!!!! you'll hear your little notification ring go off and be too tempted.  My advice if you are working on a laptop go to Pandora's website and use that.

3. Block out distractions
I didn't know about this until recently but there are actual websites you can go to and you can block social media websites and all kinds of things!  Just go on google and type in block websites for studying/ study helper block websites whichever you prefer.

4. And last but not least don't be afraid to ask for help
I didn't want to believe I could be wrong and not be able to do all of this on my own so when anyone told me I was doing it wrong I became headstrong and shut them down.  Don't do this its the worst thing you could actually do and trust me it wont help in the least.

I am now taking three classes this summer because no one told me I was being a stubborn pig head so I hope that maybe this will prevent someone from making the same mistakes.

Got any freshman college horror stories you want to share send them to my email and ill post them for you!

New twitter hashtags

So maybe its just me but I recently discovered a hashtag on twitter #Collegefessionsnaps at first I was like oh ok so this is gonna be like whisper you send a snapchat of you secrets.

WRONG!!!!!!

Let me warn you of what I know!
A. This is very real.
B. Girls send snapchats of they're boobs and half nude pictures to an anonymous twitter
C. They hashtag their college in said picture
D. Some put dirty phrases
E.  These girls don't seem to care that 100's of men are staring at this picture
F. Then this person posts the pics for the world to see

So any other ridiculous hashtags you guys want me to check out?

Hawaii Trip Part 1

So it’s been about a month since I got back from my trip to Hawaii and I have finally had the time to sit down and share with you guys the fun and exciting things that I experienced while I was there.  Now they say a picture is worth a thousand words so I may have little to no words to describe some of the pictures that I took in Hawaii.  Some of these pictures are so amazing I can’t believe I was lucky enough to get to witness it myself.  So one day before I had to go to pro bowl practice there were rumors that there was going to be record breaking waves of up to 40 feet high on North Shore, Hawaii.  So we went to get a car and we drove the hour up there just to see these waves.  At first it sounded ridiculous and then when I got there I realized how lucky I was to be seeing this.

New and Watching it every second

So maybe not all of you have heard of the popular murder crime show Castle staring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic....but I am ADDICTED!
The show has been airing since 2009 and yet I didn't truly discover it until about three months ago, and it just so coincidently started running reruns from the first season and so on.  I am so ecstatic I think I watch at least two episodes a day.
The show follows a writer Richard Castle who assists Detective Kate Beckett on her murder cases as he researches her for his novel which he has based on her "Nikki Heat" somewhere along this process they start to fall in love and ....  I don't want to be a spoiler and tell you what I already know!
Well that is my obsession as of recently!

What are you obsessed with right now?

super crazily sorry

Would it make a difference if I told you how sorry I am for not writing a post on here for almost three weeks?
No?
Well I am extremely sorry....so let me tell you the latest!
I went to Cheersport Nationals which for cheerleaders is like going to a bowl game in football the only thing better is Worlds which is like the superbowl of cheerleading.
My team Senior Small Level 2 went up against thirteen other teams and we placed 3rd!
For a competition like this that is major, we went up against some crazy hard teams and I think they all did amazing it was only pure dedication that got us that medal.
And we had a competition 2 weeks before that as well meaning only one thing.....crazy ass practice's!!!!!!  Where your coaches drive you to craziness and you want to rip your hair out.
So what is in store for now?

  • A home competition in a week
  • A competition in Myrtle Beach in a month
  • Working Masters in two months
  • Trying to pass my second semester in college
Speaking of The Masters my hours from what I heard from my friend who did it last year I will be getting up around 5am and working til midnight each night and this is for a week!  any one ever heard of something so crazy!

So in a nutshell I'm slowly turning into a head case!  I have so much on my plate but I am working hard to make sure that it all turns out well, because reward does not come without work and sacrifice.

What have yall been up to?

Snow! No..you're joking!

Let me state for the record South Carolina hasn't had snow in 3 years..so you could imagine my shock at the day I come back from the always sunny Hawaii they are predicting snow.....my face when I found out resembled something along the lines of this

I was completely shocked and unprepared our lovely little southern town in one night had gone from this

To
This

I opened the door and it was like "Well hello winter it's nice for you to finally arrive."  Just so you guys know I was completely freezing my butt off taking this picture as I was in shorts and a tee.  What's a girl to do?!

Of course the county I live in is the slowest to let anyone know if school is closed and what do you know...no school on Wednesday so what do we do? Easy sleep.  Ahh how I do love sleep <3 we have a very mutual and understanding relationship (excuse my random oddness) however around 4ish my friend Heather appeared and it seems that going out was inevitable and what do you do when you are already outside, cold, and there's snow? Snowball fight? No! I take cute pictures :)
Okay you caught me it's a little sucky but in my defense most of it had melted away already... So that's my sad little story.
How about you guys anyone have any cool snow pictures ???

Pro Bowl Day

So yesterday was my last day in Hawaii and if any of you are as big of football fans as I am then you were watching the NFL Pro Bowl

So did you guys watch it? I thought it was a great game (more like amazing) but I have to say my favorite part was the halftime show (ok so I was in it) I may be a slight bit bias since I was a part of the performance.  Which part?
Did you see that slight quick glimpse of cheerleaders on the field in neon yellow shirts and white shorts? I was one of those:

So how did we do? I know you guys actually couldn't see us and I had no part in that blame the camera guy!!!!
The pre game was pretty awesome as well if i do say so myself

We were supposed to be down there as well, however they wanted only one group so varsity (yes the shoe brand) their girls did the honor.

I am on my phone writing this after landing in Atlanta so this won't be the best post and for that I apologize however I will be making another post soon to make up for this one.

Just one last thing I wanted to say thank you to the entire staff of AACD (All American Cheer and Dance) they gave me an opportunity that no one else has and I couldn't be more grateful!
Nothing is official however I am extremely hopeful that I will be going back next year.

Thanks for reading any questions about Hawaii? I'd love to answer them or about the pro bowl?

Not much time

Between competing for a coveted spot in the 2014 Pro Bowl half time show and trying to earn myself a well deserved tan I have sadly been neglecting all of my followers (follower count: 6) I have not much to comment on at the moment unfortunately however I can share with you guys some pictures
(Excuse the random selfie I just love this)

Pedicures and things

I haven't updated in a while and I'm sorry loves but I've been extra busy of late getting ready for my departure to Hawaii (omg only 3 days)
So since I am going to be performing in the pro bowl my mom has told me to go get a pedicure and a manicure.  I was ready to object to the pedicure. let's face it being a cheerleader your pedicure gets ruined quite quickly so what's the point.
But anyhow I go in today to get one done and what would you know they have a hot guy do it.
Ummm I don't know how you guys feel about it but it's been winter here in South Carolina so my legs are not shaven to perfection and my feet are bad (athlete) yikes!  Guys he used this thing to remove dead skin and it is vibrating on the bottom of my foot (this is happening as I write this) it's so ticklish I am trying so hard not to laugh right now it is taking all of my energy not to pull my foot away.  He did an amazing job, an I would show you however ill spare you the sight of my feet (insert laugh here)
Well that's all later loves

Intrigued

I don't know if you guys know this but i am a huge reader and often times writer. I started this blog because I was intrigued by the idea of having a blog and well now I am intrigued by something else.  Meaning that I have no plans of quitin on this blog however, I am writing something on the side.  I am deeply in love with Greek mythology !!!!NERD ALERT!!!!! Anywho I have had a sort of story playing around in my head for the past couple of months and have just now started to actually think about putting it down on paper.  The kinks never seemed to work out, but I think they might this time.  I'm not putting really anything out anywhere because let's face it I'm paranoid and I really want this to work out for me.
This isn't all of it but this is a section.  I'm just starting and there's a long road ahead but writing is something I am passionate about and I intend to see what comes from this.  At the moment my support group consists of my family and not even all of them know how serious I am about this.  It may take a year or 4 but I'm determined and I would love if I had my followers support too.

It's a long shot but thank you for anyone who read this!

A sick day remedy

I usually am sick somewhere around once a month.  I know aweful, but I'm so succeptible to the cold and bronchitis it is the craziest thing.  With this my face gets puffy from congestion and add the time of month into that and I've got some lovely acne into the mix.  So I've got a couple things I really enjoy when I'm sick:
A cup of hot sweet tea or hot chocolate (I'm southern guys don't judge too much)
A good movie (for now it'll be a Christmas movie)
My babies (Aspen and tigger)
And a good mask to take away all that yuckyness on my face
Lordy Lordy knows I've been trying to find a mask that works with my skin well an I haven't found my exact skin care soulmate just yet but I'm gonna take a page from http://www.etcllymlrs.com/ and order the Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque.  Who knows maybe I'll find my perfect match to win the war of my skin.  But for now I'm going to be using Clinical Skin Solutions: skin polishing crystals.  They have an almost coconut smell to it and it makes your skin feel amazing and soft though doesn't do much for redness.
See you later loves.

The Rules of Dating

Do any of you guys ever wonder what it'll be like in 5, 10, 15 years when you have kids?  I do all the time and quite honestly I can't wait to have kids.

  • they do the chores
  • you get to start family traditions
  • and best of all you get to scare the shit out of their dates when the time comes

My parents aren't mean in the slightest however mess with their "baby" and they become bat shit crazy.  I was on facebook the other day and I saw something my mom had posted and it was just too good not to share with you guys.  They are three pictures.. The rules of dating my daughter and and son.

Guys I think I legitimately almost died when I read half of these!
Now there is one more thing Id like to share with you all before I sign off for the night...
Along with these rules there is an actually typed up date my daughter application.
Now you can find this one of two ways you can click the link below:
or you can go on google and type in: Date my Daughter application a pdf link will then show up.

And last but not least if you wanted to get your dad a shirt with the date my daughter rules on it here is a great site to get them from they were the best deal I could find....you know in my three minutes of looking (ooppsies) if you find a better deal that's great but heres the link:

Well by dolls <3 until next time !

Reviews?? Apps??

I don't do a lot of reviews mainly for the fact that most people don't care for my opinion one way or another! Well I did want to share an app that's quite popular it's called whisper if you don't have I or know what it is I'll explain.
This app is geared mostly towards college students it is engineered in a way that it in no way can be traced back to you yourself.  You have a username but at no point is your name ever exposed to others.
The point of the app is for people being able to share their secrets without being humiliated by the people who know them.  You've gotten it off your chest without actually telling anyone of importance.  And most of the time it's quite stupid stuff not even secrets

And then you get the ones like this that are actually secrets and the whole no name thing really comes in handy.
Now if this app is something you want to use let me warn you. Yep trees that biit, what started as geared towards college kids no has middle schoolers on it and people using it as a hookup place which is ridiculous.  So be warned cause you'll see some of this

And I guess every good has a little bad I suggest checking it out....I go on every once In a while.

Any apps you want me to check out?

2014 Bucket List

So I definitely can not be the only one who has things they want to do before the clock strikes midnight on New Years of 2015.  Well since it is officially 2014 I plan on making one now!
This will be my first Bucket List...Ever, but I saw this somewhere and thought it was a cute idea.

  • Go somewhere that I've never been (going to Hawaii in two weeks)
  • Kiss my crush
  • Accidently admit to my crush that I like him (oopsies)
  • Get accepted into the University of South Carolina
  • Try out for the USC cheer squad (unfortunately I cant bc I wont be able to get in in time)
  • Get Shwasted at a college party (come on every freshman needs the experience)
  • get more than 100 followers on my blog
  • Grow out my natural hair color (dirty blonde not much a fan)
  • go on a mission trip
  • volunteer somewhere

This is as far as my list goes for now....ta ta for now loves<3

What is on your 2014 Bucket List?

Help Me #Hawaii

I figured these posts needed their own specific category.  Can I get a raised hand from all the girls out there who need help in the world.  Okay Im a girl...Does that mean I am supposed to automatically know anything and everything?  I hope not cause I am halfway to clueless.  I know I don't have many followers at the moment (sad thought) but true and that's okay.  But these are the posts that are some of my most current problems.  And if they end up helping you out well all the merrier right?  Why don't we become those girls who do know everything automatically because we learned it all!  And If I'm over here preachin to an empty audience so be it.
Anywho <--- goodness I say that a lot.  I am heading out to Hawaii in 2 weeks and I am clueless as to what to wear?  Now you'd think oh that's easy shorts and tank tops, cute dresses all the way.  Well since I am preforming in the Pro Bowl this year they say I need to dress appropriate, since there will be Cheer Scouts there.  What is appropriate?  To me a pair of shorts, gladiators and cute shirt is definitely appropriate.  But then to some people shorts are out of the question.   So my question is what is respectable and cute to where to Hawaii?   Cause I am confused.

Christmas and Road Trips

To say my break was interesting would be a complete understatement.  First I didn't get to open any presents until December the 27th...I know misery right? But it was worth the wait.  Was that Iphone 5s under the tree? no? but that's ok my mom knew what I really needed stuff for my upcoming apartment can we say boring....nah I in all reality love it. And I made these cute little strawberry Santa's (Above) for us to eat while we opened presents.
New Years Eve came and I finally watched New Years Eve, let me tell you I much preferred its prequel Valentines Day.  If you haven't seen it here's a little bit of info on it.  After that we all (mother, step father, his parents and my two obnoxious brothers) went outside to shoot of these bad babies.  (The pictures shall come later) after three hours of fireworks, a grand finale, and a toast at midnight we called it a night.
Not even two days later it was time for me to leave and I wasn't happy to go.  The car ride from Houston, Texas to North August, SC is a long one try 15 hours.  And with my little brother in the car it sure was a chore.  But we made it back and I am definitely back to my blog.  How I have missed it.
Bye loves til next time

Can I be a fan?

Ok so this post goes out there to all of my fangirls in the world.  First let me start by saying this will NOT become a habit of mine to post fan shit (oopsies excuse my language that's my first new years resolution).  Anywho how many of you have seen that pretty popular movie called Twilight?  Anyone? No?  Well let me tell you I'm only slightly obsessed with it.  However, I'm more interested in the legends that went into creating the story for instance the Quileute Legends.  Being that I am part Native American I have always found there legends more than interesting.  But since my only living relative who was Native American and practiced its history died I am stuck with the internet and my very unpracticed research abilities.
Today I was on the web snooping wondering what I was going to write in this post...(sorry I was crazy busy over break...like I had no Wifi crazy well on my laptop that is.)  and I found this article: http://invisiblehistory.blogspot.com/2011/03/quileute-children-great-ancestors-of.html its from another blog and it isn't much but It was something that really kind of hit home for me.  These people that we pushed off of their land so long ago, and almost killed off, are here with these amazing stories of their people and still to this day share them with new generations.
Am I sounding sappy?  Oh goodness kill me now If I am!  Its sad to think that such a beautiful people with an outstanding culture can be dying according to this article: http://www.quileutes.com/quileute/quileute-legends.html  The Quileute's have only somewhere around 750 members left in existence today and their language even then is dying out.
The tribe is doing all it can http://www.quileutenation.org/culture/language and for me personally yeah twilight started as another book another series another infatuation, but it then turned me to look at my heritage.  I would hate it if the Cherokee tribe died out or if the language started lacking.

Well that was my fan moment! And I can almost quite positively tell you that this wont be the last post on one of my many obsessions of the moment!
What are you obsessed with?
