Snow! No..you're joking!

Let me state for the record South Carolina hasn't had snow in 3 years..so you could imagine my shock at the day I come back from the always sunny Hawaii they are predicting snow.....my face when I found out resembled something along the lines of this

I was completely shocked and unprepared our lovely little southern town in one night had gone from this

I opened the door and it was like "Well hello winter it's nice for you to finally arrive."  Just so you guys know I was completely freezing my butt off taking this picture as I was in shorts and a tee.  What's a girl to do?!

Of course the county I live in is the slowest to let anyone know if school is closed and what do you know...no school on Wednesday so what do we do? Easy sleep.  Ahh how I do love sleep <3 we have a very mutual and understanding relationship (excuse my random oddness) however around 4ish my friend Heather appeared and it seems that going out was inevitable and what do you do when you are already outside, cold, and there's snow? Snowball fight? No! I take cute pictures :) 

Okay you caught me it's a little sucky but in my defense most of it had melted away already... So that's my sad little story.

Christmas and Road Trips

To say my break was interesting would be a complete understatement.  First I didn't get to open any presents until December the 27th...I know misery right? But it was worth the wait.  Was that Iphone 5s under the tree? no? but that's ok my mom knew what I really needed stuff for my upcoming apartment can we say boring....nah I in all reality love it. And I made these cute little strawberry Santa's (Above) for us to eat while we opened presents. 
New Years Eve came and I finally watched New Years Eve, let me tell you I much preferred its prequel Valentines Day.  If you haven't seen it here's a little bit of info on it.  After that we all (mother, step father, his parents and my two obnoxious brothers) went outside to shoot of these bad babies.  (The pictures shall come later) after three hours of fireworks, a grand finale, and a toast at midnight we called it a night.
Not even two days later it was time for me to leave and I wasn't happy to go.  The car ride from Houston, Texas to North August, SC is a long one try 15 hours.  And with my little brother in the car it sure was a chore.  But we made it back and I am definitely back to my blog.  How I have missed it.

Decorating..too late?

We finally did it everyone!  We decorated for Christmas!  So I know what your saying aren't you a little late?  Yes..maybe..possibly..nah not really.  With finals last week and my grandma getting ready to go out of town we never really had the time but we did last night with the help of my amazing friend heather.

 
How is it possible that I am so terrible at working this blog that I cant even get the pictures to go side by side? Color me confused.  That tree with three people working on it took 3 hours to do...wondering how? Christmas movies of course!  We watched this cute movie called Santa Baby 2..by far not my favorite Christmas movie, but it did the trick to get us all in the spirit.  Then we made peppermint chocolate chip cookies now those are something I definitely recommend.  My mother goes on a crazy peppermint kick every Christmas and this is just the latest find of that obsession.  You think I'm kidding let me make a list: Peppermint ice cream, peppermint hot chocolate, peppermint cookies, peppermint chocolate, peppermint candy.....the list could go on. Before any of this decorating took place my friend and I were at Walgreens I just had to print out some pictures *sshh its for a Christmas present* i'll post pictures later.  And while there we found this cute little shaker with a cocktail recipe on the side.  It was easy to make fill the shaker with ice, pour in the peppermint mix, fill with 3/4 cup water, 3/4 cup vodka, shake, and serve.  Now obviously since I am only 18 I would never have an underage drink ;) but I do recommend them you can find them at your local Walgreens.

So did we decorate too late? I don't think we did.  Afterall we are leaving the day after Christmas to go to Houston, Texas.  That's going to be the real adventure.  Now its time for me to go through that DVR full of Christmas movies.  Ta Ta For Now!

 

 

 

Ahhh its winter

Okay so most of you are probably are saying something along the lines of "YESS its winter!"  Im not the kind of girl who enjoys cold weather at all!  Unless you count snuggling up in my sweat pants and hoodie under four layers of blankets, a winter person then you've got the wrong girl. 
However, I am in love with what comes with winter (minus the cold, flu, and freezing temperatures!!!)
Though there's a few things that I particularly enjoy in the winter time:

• Hot Chocolate ~ with marshmallows
• ABC's 25 Days of Christmas (the movies are so romantic)
• Warm sweaters, scarves, and boots.
• Hanging out with your friends 
• Buying Christmas presents for all of my friends and family
• And of course decorating the Christmas tree
• Getting to wear my slipper boots out of the house
• Having a reason to pig out (thank you thanksgiving and Christmas dinner)
• Black Friday Shopping
• Tacky Ornaments
• Winter Break
• Wearing Sweatpants like its a religion
• Candy shopping spree
• Baking yummies 
• And visiting family
